Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has refunded a record breaking €3,000,000 in losing bets placed on tonight’s Champions League Final.

The bookmaker had pledged to refund losing bets on the Champions League Final, if  Barcelona won the match in 90 minutes. Barcelona dominated throughout and claimed their 4th European title with a 3-1 victory.

The result meant that Paddy Power was up for a record breaking €3,000,000 customer refund which applied to all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast bets placed on the match.

The offer was chosen by Paddy Power customers from a list of potential Money-Back specials on the game.

Paddy Power said “This Money-Back Special was chosen for our customers by our customers so I had a feeling it was always going to end up this way. A three million quid refund has raised the bar to new heights, but that’s what happens when you bet with Paddy Power.”
