The league now comes to a halt while the UEFA U21 takes place where Iceland is among the finalists. The tournament starts again on June 24.

In the meantime one postponed game will be played on June 13, Thor Akureyri vs FH Hafnarfjordur.

Round 7 results :

Stjarnan - Grindavik 2-1
Vikingur - Fylkir 1-3
Thor - IBV 2-1
Breidablik - Fram 1-1
KR - FH 2-0

Stjarnan - Grindavik 2-1
As we suspected this game produced goals, but maybe a bit fewer than they could have been. First half was very entertaining with many chances where both teams could have easily scored more. With 2-1 at half time one exepected many more goals in the second half but the game didn't reach the same level during the latter 45 minutes. Great start for Stjarnan so far.

Vikingur - Fylkir 1-3
Not much to say about this game. Fylkir looks great and scores a lot of goals with great streingth in their midfield and offense. However, they keep conceding. Vikingur managed to score but other than that they simply lack any kind of offensive skill and in this game they almost didn´t attack at all.

Vikingur had their defender, Egill Atlason, back but it was obvious that he was still injured and he verified it himself in an interview after the game. Vikingur look in real trouble while Fylkir have placed themselves in 3rd place.

Thor - IBV 2-1
No one expected anything else than an IBV victory here. However, the bookies seemed to read into this one correctly as they priced IBV at around 2, which was quite surprising. It was obvious that Thor's manager had made the team change their tactics from the open "Brazilian" individual play into more closed physical setup. This worked perfectly as they let IBV have the ball and control the game while fighting like crazy and jumping into every tackle with full force. This produced a fine and important win for the home team.

It really makes you wonder if their home grounds will becoem a lion's nest but we need more games to see how it progresses. It must be stated that the pitch was quite awful and hasn´t recovered at all from the winter. In some large areas the grass was totaly missing.

Breidablik - Fram 1-1
This game was very even and the results more than fair. Fram are slowly improving but are still having problems up front. They scored their 4th goal of the season and once again it was Arnar Gunnlaugsson who has scored all 4 goals.

Once again Breidablik concede and they have now conceded the most in the league, a total of 13 goals. They stand in 8th place which surely isn't acceptable for the reigning champions.

KR - FH 2-0
FH had totaly dominated the games against KR in recent years and it didn't look different the first part of the game. FH were stronger and should´ve scored. Then when they missed a penalty kick in the second half everything changed and the game shifted to KR.

Just a few minutes after the penalty save, KR got the lead and after that there was no question about the result. KR secured the win with another goal and are now 4 points clear in the top place.
