The Czech Republic v Portugal quarter-final wasn’t quite the thriller we’ve come to expect from a match at Euro 2012, but in the end a familiar name popped up to brighten it up.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the hero for Portugal, grabbing the only goal of the match, and he was the hero for Paddy Power punters who had missed out on 1st Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast single bets on the match .

That's because Ronaldo's goal triggered another Paddy Power money back refund - and the Irish bookmaker has refunded all losing pre-match 1st Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles on the match.

All in all, It’s a whopper refund of over £400,000.

At roughly 9.20pm this evening, Paddy Power was spotted sobbing into his lucky pants as good fortune deserted him to spark one of the biggest refunds in the company’s history.
