Everton 0-3 Portsmouth

Portsmouth enjoyed not having to face Chelsea or Manchester United for the first time this season - scoring a fine 3-0 win.

Jermain Defoe and Glen Johnson scored in the first half for the visitors. Peter Crouch set the final score with a close range header after the ball came back off the crossbar in the 68th minute.

West Ham 4-1 Blackburn Rovers

West Ham earned their second win of the season against Blackburn in a match played at the Upton Park.

While the scoreboard showed a comfortable 4-1 margin for the home side it was anything but an easy game.

The Hammers controlled the match early when Davenport opened the score in the 12th minute.

Blackburn scored in the 20th but sadly for them it was an own goal.

Roberts got Rovers back into the match with a goal 2 minutes later, and immediately after the break he missed a penalty kick that should have brought the equalizer for the visitors.

It was a fairly even match then until injury time when Bellamy and Cole added further goals for the Hammers to inflate the scoreline.
