Spanish La Liga News :: Real Madrid install Juande Ramos as new manager

Former Sevilla and Tottenham Hotspur coach Juande Ramos has been given a six-month contract at Real Madrid after the Spanish giants parted company with Bernd Schuster on Tuesday.

Schuster's departure was said to be by "mutual consent" and comes after a bad run of form which has seen the Real Madrid slip to fifth place in the Primera Liga, nine points behind arch-rivals Barcelona.

A dejected Schuster seemed to have expected the sack following Sunday's 4-3 defeat at home to Sevilla - Madrid's third defeat in their last four league fixtures - when he admitted his side were incapable of winning "El Clasico" at Barcelona on Saturday.

However, Mijatovic insisted that Schuster's declaration that his side could not beat Barca on Saturday had nothing to do with his departure.

Whatever, Juande Ramos is now in charge for the rest of the season and becomes Real Madrid's 11th boss in the last 10 years.
