NFL Football News :: San Diego Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson has serious groin injury

San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson has a detached tendon in his groin area that is so bad, doctors recommended that he have surgery this week.

Tomlinson’s mood was especially down all week and this might help explain why he was so glum. Tomlinson knows he is not well as these playoffs are getting ready to kickoff.

Tomlinson didn't finish the AFC Championship Game against New England last season due to a knee injury which continued during the off-season.

So as much as Tomlinson is going to want to play Saturday night, the Chargers might have no choice but to shut him down to prevent him from doing further and more extensive damage to his groin.

IF Tomlinson plays tonight, which is looking less and less likely, it will be difficult for Tomlinson to be effective.
