English Premier News :: Spurs freeze season ticket prices for two years

Tottenham Hotspur have recognised the impact of the credit Crunch on fans by freezing White Hart Lane season ticket prices for two years.

Despite spending £29m on strikers Jermaine Defoe and Wilson Palacios in the January transfer window, Spurs have promised to keep ticket prices steady.

"Wednesday's price freeze for two years, combined with the current lower VAT rate, has been designed to thank our supporters," said a club statement.

Fans who renew season tickets will see the same list price as this season, although the cost will be lower due to the the VAT cut which is now down to 15%.

Spurs are currently 16th in the Premier league, level on points with the four teams below them.

Of course season ticket prices at Tottenham have doubled in the last eight years - much in line with Premier League clubs up and down the country - but this move is still a very welcome step.
