English Premier News :: Luiz Felipe Scolari moves from The Bridge to Bunyodkor.

Former Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has been named coach of Uzbekistan champions Bunyodkor.

The 60-year-old manager, who won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002, has agreed an 18-month deal to return to football after being sacked by the Blues in February.

He follows behind another Brazilian legend, Zico, who led the club to a league and cup double and the Asian Champions League semi-finals last year before taking over at CSKA Moscow.

Rivaldo, who was part of the 2002 World Cup winning team that Scolari managed, plays for Bunyodkor.

Since the Bunyodkor's formation in 2005, it has progressed rapidly, winning the Uzbekistan League Two championship in 2006 and League One in 2007, before doing the double last season.

The team are sponsored by Zeromax, one of the region's leading gas and oil companies, and they are currently building a new 35,000-seater stadium as part of the Sport Park Tashkent sport complex.

As well as the stadium, the complex will include seven training pitches, two of them with artificial surfaces, which will act as the national football academy.
