Italian Serie A News :: Napoli cut AC Milan lead to three points in Italy - Inter Milan loom in 3rd spot

AC Milan saw their lead at the top of Serie A cut to just three points by Napoli after being held to a 1-1 stalemate by Genoa

Alexandre Pato put Milan ahead in the 29th minute but Antonio Floro Flores levelled on the stroke of half-time for the home side, earning them the point they needed to move above their city rivals Sampdoria in the standings.

Napoli beat Cesena 2-0 in Naples to take full advantage of Milan's slip.

Edinson Cavani put Napoli in front with his 17th goal of the season, with Jose Ernesto Sosa confirming the win in injury time.

Inter Milan moved up to third spot - with a game in hand - with a thrilling 5-3 win over AS Roma.

Wesley Sneijder started the scoring for Inter in the third minute at the San Siro, but Fabio Simplicio responded for the Giallorossi in the 13th minute.

Samuel Eto'o put the home side back in front 10 minutes before the break and the game seemed to over when Nicolas Burdisso was sent off for giving away a penalty, which Eto'o converted in the 63rd minute.

Thiago Motta made it 4-1 to Inter, but goals from Mirko Vucinic and Simone Loria for the visitors provided another twist, throwing the game wide open again until Esteban Cambiasso completed the scoring in the last minute.
