Real Madrid comfortably saw off Real Sociedad winning 4-1 at the Bernabeu.

Kaka gave Jose Mourinho's side the ideal start when he opened the scoring early on, and then Cristiano Ronaldo added two more goals before half-time, netting in the 21st and 42nd minutes.

Real Sociedad pulled a goal back midway through the second half when the ball rebounded in off Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa.

But Real Madrid completed the scoring fourth late on through ego maniac Emmanuel Adebayor, who scored his second goal in three appearances since joining the Spanish giants on loan.

Barcelona strolled to a 3-0 victory over Atletico Madrid at the Nou Camp to a 50-year-old record of 15 straight league victories.

Lionel Messi got all the goals with a hat-trick, opening the scoring with a low finish from the edge of the box after 17 minutes, adding a second from close range just short of the half-hour mark and scrambled home a third late in the game.

Third place Villarreal were beaten 0-1 at home in the derby by Levante.

Levante, who had previously picked up just five points away from home coming into the game, won the game thanks to Valmiro Valdo's breakaway goal just after half-time.
