German Bundesliga News :: Dormund held but increase lead to 12 points as Leverkusen and Bayern Munich falter

Dortmund drew 0-0 with Schalke on Friday night - but it was enough to extend their Bundesliga lead to 12 points.

Dortmund peppered the Schalke goal with shots but could not find a breakthrough as they were held in a 0-0 stalemate.

Bayer Leverkusen missed a chance to close the gap by losing 1-0 at 10-man Nurnberg.

Christian Eigler scored the only goal of the game in the 60th minute but did not make things easy for Nurnberg in the end by getting sent off in the 86th minute for a second yellow card.

It was just a fourth loss of the season for Leverkusen, who stayed second.

Bayern Munich slipped up too - surrendering a two-goal lead to lose 2-3 to Cologne in the Mungersdorfer Stadion on Saturday

Goals from Mario Gomez and Hamit Altintop put Bayern firmly in the driving seat, but the league's strugglers completed a sensational turnaround in the second half.

Christian Clemens brought them back into the game in the 55th minute before two goals in 10 minutes from Milivoje Novakovic earned Frank Schafer's side their second win in three games.
