It feels fitting that the American League Championship Series is going to come down to a Game 7 hosted by the Toronto Blue Jays.
Both the home team and the Seattle Mariners will be feeling some pressure knowing that they have had chances to book their spot in the World Series already. Each of the last two games could have easily swung in a different direction and so it feels right that the chance to face the Los Angeles Dodgers comes down this game on Monday.
Aside from the two starters from Game 6, you have to feel that every arm is going to be available and neither of the players earning the start in Game 7 will be asked to pitch out of any difficult spots.
The Mariners have already come through the pressure of winning a deciding game in the Divisional Round and that may be important. However, the Toronto Blue Jays are the ones with home advantage this time and the fans are making plenty of noise for the team having helped them win for the first time at home in the Championship Series.
Shane Bieber begun slowly in Game 3, but he came through 6 Innings and set the Blue Jays up for a big victory on the road. At 2-0 down in the Series, Bieber would have known there was pressure on him, but he showed all of his experience in being able to mow through the Innings after absorbing an early hit.
Once again he will be duelling with George Kirby, who gave up eight runs in 4 Innings in Game 3, but this is the pitcher that started the Game 5 decider in the Divisional Round. In that, George Kirby restricted the Detroit Tigers to a single run as he pitched 5 Innings of what turned out to be a 15 Inning game.
This time you have to believe that George Kirby will be pulled off the mound pretty quickly if he is not able to keep runners from moving onto base. He was also hit hard by the Home Run ball in that Game 3 loss and Kirby will have to be prepared against a big contact making lineup.
Prediction
The bullpens are likely to be emptied in this Game 7 in the American League Championship Series, but the batters are coming up big whoever they face.
In Game 6, Seattle missed some big chances early on with a number of double plays costing them the opportunity to score the runs to put pressure on the trailing Blue Jays.
The top of the order struggled, but they may be able to have more success having just seen Shane Bieber last week.
They only managed four Hits against Bieber, but one was a Home Run and this looks to be another game that may trend over the total line set.
Once again, Vladimir Guerrero Jr came up big for the Prop bets and he is 4.50 to score another Home Run.
A treble of Nathan Lukes, Ernie Clement and Cal Raleigh all having at least one Hit pays out at 3.40.
And Josh Naylor looks a big price at 7.50 to add to the three Home Runs he has in this Championship Series.
