Athletico Madrid will be hoping to get the win here after two consecutive draws and close the gap on city rivals Real Madrid when they welcome Granada for this match.
The incentive for Athletico Madrid is that they can go level on points with a win here as they start their match earlier then Real Madrid. Their last match ended in a goalless draw with Getafe and they have only managed two wins in their last six games as they host a struggling Granada side who have yet to win in their last six games.
Meanwhile, the visitors Granada have failed to register a win since beating Deportivo La Coruna on the 9th February. Their last seven matches have been poor as they managed two draws and 5 defeats since then. They are coming into this match on the back of a 5-1 thrashing at home against Real Betis and are now only two points clear of the relegation zone.
The home side under Diego Simeone has one injury concern with Arda Turan rated doubtful to start. Simeone could keep faith with the same lineup that managed a point against Getafe last weekend.
As for Granada, Alcaraz is likely to make changes to the side that lost heavily to Betis last weekend. Diego Buonanotte could be brought into this match as he is fit to start.
