There’s midweek action in the Championship on Tuesday night and a west midlands tussle between Coventry City and their former landlords, Birmingham City, when the two teams meet at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Coventry City have finally returned to their former ground for this season’s Championship campaign and the Sky Blues have made an impressive start to this term as the hosts currently occupy a place in the play-off pack, sitting in 5th place.
Coventry have lost just one of their last five matches overall in the English second tier which was a 2-1 loss at home to Swansea City but recent wins against Hull City and Bristol City have helped maintain the host’s top six position.
Tuesday’s hosts have also been tough to beat at home this season with a record of 7-1-1 19/8 to date which includes an impressive 4-1 rout of Fulham at the start of October.
Onto Birmingham City and the visitors were unable to resume their campaign with a win on the weekend following the international break as they slumped to a second defeat on the trot, losing 2-0 away at Hull City.
Birmingham had previously suffered a 2-1 loss at home to Reading before the break and they’ll now make the short trip to Coventry on Tuesday night looking to avoid a third successive defeat in the Championship.
The Blues had previously put together a promising three-match winning streak which consisted of wins against Swansea City, Middlesbrough and Bristol City respectively although results away from home continue to be inconsistent.
An away record of 3-2-4 9/12 indicates a lack of goals on the road and this may well hold Birmingham back once again on Tuesday night.

The previous four meetings have ended in stalemate but Coventry perhaps look the more likely to find a way to win here.
