As Osasuna welcome potential top-four candidates Sevilla to Estadio El Sadar, the curtain rises on another Spanish La Liga season with the hosts eager to put last season’s dismal run-in behind them on Friday night and achieve a mid-table or better finish this time around.
Since earning promotion in 2018/19, Osasuna have finished 10th or 11th in three consecutive occasions under manager, Jagobo Arrasate, despite failing to win any of their last six matches of last season’s La Liga campaign.

Onto Sevilla and last season’s 4th placed finishers have brought in upwards of €85m after the sale of star players Joules Koundé, Diego Carlos and Luuk de Jong but there’s been very little action in the transfer market in terms of fresh faces at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
In addition, despite their top four finish last season, league wins seemed to be tough to collect for the visitors as they secured just three wins from their final 12 games of last term, two of which were achieved on home soil.
No fewer than seven draws featured in Sevilla’s last 12 matches while results away from home also reflected Sevilla’s penchant for stalemates; the visitors picked up just one win from their last nine away games, seven of which ended in draws!
