2008-03-26 - France vs England
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Analysis:Under Capello England won their first match beating Switzerland at Wembley last month now they will be keen to build on that as their next target is the World Cup Qualifiers after they failed to qualify for the finals of Euro 2008. Beckham will play a role in this match and after the likes of Peter Shilton, Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton and Billy Wright who all earned their 100th cap playing for England, Beckham will be the elite few to join in that group.
Even though Capello has not named his side ahead of this match chances are Beckham will get the nod ahead of David Bentley of Blackburn. In midfield Frank Lampard will play alongside Steven Gerrard while Wayne Rooney is set to start as a lone striker in this match. Michael Owen and Theo Walcott is likely to be on the bench once again.
In central defence we can see John Terry lining up alongside new Captain Rio Ferdinand. It remains to be seen if Ashyley Cole will start this match or his Chelsea team mate Wayne Bridge. Wes Brown and Glen Johnson are competing for the right back position while David James is likely to start in goal.
As for France, this will be a crucial game as they are playing in the finals of Euro 2008. Besides England, they will also play against the likes of Ecuador, Paraguay and Colombia but the match against England is the most difficult of them all.
But the home side are without a hoist of players as they are missing the likes of Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, Louis Saha, Mathieu Valbuena, Karim Benzema, Bacary Sagna and Sebastien Frey due to injuries.
In attack watch out for David Trezeguet as well as Chelsea striker Nicholas Anelka who knows the English game well. They also have two other Chelsea players in the side the likes of Claude Makelele and Florent Malouda in the side. Other players who can be a threat will be Franck Ribery and Jeremy Toulalan in the midfield department.
Goalkeeper Gregory Coupet will start in goal and he will be supported by Francois Clerc, Lilian Thruram, William Gallas and Eric Abidal operating in defence.
Take England and accept the 1/4 ball as I can't see them losing this match.
Cheers and good luck,
