12th placed Montpellier have produced a mixed bag of results lately in the French top flight but these have generally seen the hosts lose out on actual wins as Montpellier have managed to pick up just two wins from their last nine league matches overall.
Victories at Lorient 3-0 away and a 3-0 home win against Toulouse have been Montpellier’s only highlights in the past couple of months in Ligue 1 while also slipping to four defeats within this period as well.
Defeats at the hands of Reims, Lille, Nantes and PSG have prevented the hosts from lifting themselves up into the top half of the division and form and results at home have also suffered; Montpellier have won just once in their last seven home games.
Brest currently occupy 8th place in the Ligue 1 standings but the visitors will make their way to the Stade de la Mosson-Mondial 98 desperate to avoid a fourth league defeat on the trot after falling foul of the likes of Lille, PSG and Monaco respectively.
However, it should be noted that this period included a particularly tough set of fixtures against teams sitting in the top four in the division but beforehand, Brest had lost just once in their preceding eight league matches overall.
That defeat came in the form of a 2-0 loss on the road at Marseille but having also picked up four wins and three draws, Brest look capable of at least holding their own here against one of the ‘lesser lights’ in the division on Sunday.

Montpellier have won the last two meetings on the trot 3-0 and 7-0 respectively, but Brest look a different prospect this season and the visitors stand a decent chance of picking up at least a point here.
