They still have some big games to play, but Newcastle United are playing with as much confidence as any of their rivals for those Champions League spots.
By the time Newcastle United kick off on the South Coast, a number of their top five rivals will have played. They finished last weekend in 3rd place in the Premier League table, although Nottingham Forest play their game in hand on Thursday in a bid to move past The Magpies. Eddie Howe is back on the sidelines and will be reminding his players to improve the 8-3-6 away record and keep control of their own destiny.
Newcastle United have lost 1 of their last 8 games in all competitions, but most importantly they have earned 7 wins in that run. They looked to have turned around the away form by winning consecutive Premier League games at West Ham United and Leicester City, but Newcastle United were beaten 4-1 at Villa Park in their most recent fixture played on their travels.
