Scottish Premiership side Rangers will be attempting to reach the group stage of the Champions League for the first time since the 2022/23 season when they take on Belgian outfit Club Brugge over two legs in this play-off tie.

Club Brugge have started well in their Belgian domestic top flight season as the visitors occupy 4th place after picking up three wins from their opening four league matches in the Pro League with wins against Genk, Cercle Brugge and Zulte Waregem.
The Belgian side also accounted for Austrian Bundesliga aside RB Salzburg with a 4-2 win on aggregate but this upcoming trip to Glasgow could prove to be the visitor’s toughest test so far this season.
Club Brugge reached the round of last 16 in last season’s Champions League but were sent crashing out of the elite European competition in a resounding 6-1 loss on aggregate to English Premier League side Aston Villa.

Rangers and Club Brugge have met only once before in a pre-season friendly which resulted in a 2-2 draw at Ibrox in early July but this may bode well for the hosts in at least avoiding defeat here.
