Ipswich Town picked up a third win on the trot in the Championship last weekend when the Tractor Boys registered a 1-0 home win over play-off candidates Hull City at Portman Road and Kieran McKenna’s side will hold home advantage once agin on Saturday afternoon when they entertain strugglers Leicester City.
Ipswich still trail 2nd placed Middlesbrough by a three-point margin but that could all change on Saturday especially as the hosts have slipped to just two defeats in their last 13 matches overall in the Championship whilst collecting no fewer than nine victories in the process.
The two defeats came in the shape of losses away from home at Sheffield United and Wrexham but form at Portman Road has remained solid as Ipswich possess an excellent home record of 12-5-1 34/12 to date.
Leicester City dropped down into the relegation zone in the Championship table following a disappointing 2-0 loss at home to Norwich City last weekend which made it 10 games without a win in all competitions, and being handed seven defeats in the process.
New manager, Gary Rowett, has overseen recent points picked up in the Championship courtesy of draws with Stoke City and Middlesbrough but it was a case of back to square one for The Foxes after being beaten at home by Norwich City.
Leicester City’s away record has also not been good enough this season to keep The Foxes out of trouble with stats of 4-6-8 24/31 to their name, and the visitors look set to struggle on the road once again on Saturday afternoon.
The Betting Verdict
Ipswich Town’s solid record at Portman Road should see the Tractor boys over the line here.
The Pick :
Ipswich Town 2-1 Leicester City
