A Sports Betting Pick by Auls

Brentford v Everton
Football: English Premier League
Saturday 11th April 2026 - Kick Off 3pm

Brentford

The last two months of the Premier League season will have some important issues to sort out and determining the European places is one. Keith Andrews and Brentford will be extremely happy with the way the season has developed that they are one of the teams chasing those spots, rather than being involved in the relegation scrap as was predicted for them back in August.

Recent results have just slowed the strong momentum Brentford had picked up, but they do return from the March international break in 7th place in the Premier League table and just 3 points behind Liverpool in the top five. However, this is a congested Division and just 3 points separate Brentford from 11th placed Sunderland and so it is important to get back to winning ways. The Bees have a 7-5-3 record at the Gtech Community Stadium where they will be hosting one of the main European-chasing rivals this weekend.

Brentford may be unbeaten in 5 games in all competitions, but they have won 1 of the last 6 in normal time and had to settle for 3 straight Premier League draws. Since beating Sunderland in the first home game of 2026, Brentford have failed to win any of 4 Premier League games played at the Gtech Community Stadium and been beaten twice. Last time out in front of the home supporters, Brentford led Wolves 2-0, but were pegged back in a 2-2 draw.

Aaron Hickey, Vitaly Janelt and Mikkel Damsgaard may all be ready to compete for Brentford this weekend, but Rico Henry is a doubt.

Everton

Three weeks have passed since Everton were last in action crushing Chelsea 3-0 at Hill Dickinson Stadium and David Moyes' ambitions of taking this club back into European Football remain intact. There will be plenty of Everton fans noting the relatively small gap between themselves and rivals Liverpool and the key is to maintain some momentum into the second Merseyside derby of the season, which takes place next weekend.

The victory over Chelsea means Everton return from the March international break in 8th place in the Premier League table and 3 points behind Liverpool in what is likely to be the last Champions League place on offer. It is the 7-3-5 away record that has been the key to the season Everton have been able to put together, although the team have only scored 16 goals in those matches.

Everton suffered consecutive Premier League defeats to Bournemouth and Manchester United in February, but bounced back to win 3 of the last 4 top flight matches. The exception was a late 2-0 defeat at Arsenal which ended a run of 6 away League games without a defeat. Everton had won 4 of those 6 matches and were holding Arsenal to a goalless draw until conceding in the 89th minute.

Iliman Ndiaye has been a big part of the Everton success and the hope is that he will be available to travel having missed international duty and having another week to recover from an injury. Both Carlos Alcaraz and Tyrique George are also hoping to be available.

Head to Head

Igor Thiago scored a hat-trick in helping Brentford to a 2-4 win at Everton earlier this season.

Brentford have not won any of the last 3 when hosting Everton, although 2 of those have ended in draws.

Prediction

These two teams both have ambitions of earning a spot in any UEFA competition for next season and 7th placed Brentford and 8th placed Everton could still be thinking about a late surge towards the Champions League places.

Seven games remain in the top flight and a strong end to the season could see either close and overturn the 3 point gap to 5th placed Liverpool.

However, a poor end to the campaign would see a number of teams behind these two move past them and the season ending without any European Football secured.

The situation does create pressure on the players and the management staff, although both have had solid campaigns to be in the current position out of the March international break. Both have surpassed pre-season expectations, but supporters will always want more and that does create some pressure.

Brentford have not dealt with it as well as would be hoped in recent matches and the failure to convert a two goal lead over Wolves into three points will have hurt. Draws at Bournemouth and Leeds United are not the worst results, but Brentford have had momentum slowed and they are now facing an Everton team who are well rested and still feeling pretty confident after 3 wins in 4 Premier League games.

David Moyes' team have been very good away from home and were minutes away from slowing the Arsenal title charge before losing 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium. Prior to that, Everton had won 4 of 6 away games played in the Premier League and this is a team that does not concede a lot of away goals.

They perhaps don't score enough, but Everton always feel a single goal could result in three points with the way they are organised defensively.

Brentford are very dangerous at home and have players capable of making the difference, but Everton will be pretty confident too.

The Toffees are unbeaten in 3 visits to the Gtech Community Stadium, but 2 of those have ended in draws and that looks a real runner in this Premier League fixture this weekend.

The Pick :

Brentford 1-1 Everton
