Tuesday 12th May 2026 - Kick Off 7:45pm
Kilmarnock
Back to back 3-0 wins has pushed Kilmarnock into a very good position in the Scottish Premiership standings, but manager Neil McCann will only be satisfied when top flight status has been secured. They have two chances to manage that on their own, but Kilmarnock will survive no matter what if St Mirren are beaten at Pittodrie on the same evening.
The manager and the squad will not be waiting to hear about other results and instead the focus has to be on earning the points needed in their own right. After winning at St Mirren, Kilmarnock are 10th in the Scottish Premiership standings and 4 points clear of the bottom two with a couple of fixtures left to play. Improving the 6-4-8 record at Rugby Park where Kilmarnock have scored 25 goals and conceded 27 is the only focus in the last fixture to be played here this season.
Kilmarnock have won 4 of the last 7 League games played and that looks to be enough to avoid slipping into the Relegation Play Off, although unlikely to see them match last season's 9th place finish. The side have won 3 of the last 4 League games played at Rugby Park and Kilmarnock have lost 1 of the last 7 here.
Brad Lyons and Jack Thomson are both hoping to be part of the match day squad.
Dundee
When the season kicked off back in August, Dundee were set as favourites to finish bottom of the Scottish Premiership standings and so all credit has to be given to manager Steven Pressley for the season that has been produced. Finishing above the final standing from last season is another positive for Dundee as they play out the remainder of the campaign.
They head into the penultimate fixture of the season in 9th place in the Scottish Premiership and there is still an opportunity for Dundee to finish above rivals Dundee United, although they will need to win out and hope for results to land in their favour. The Dee have a 2-5-11 away record in the League where they have scored 10 goals and conceded 30.
Dundee began the split in the standings by losing heavily at Tannadice Park, but back to back wins over Livingston and St Mirren have secured another season in the Premiership. Both of those wins were produced at home and Dundee have lost 3 of the last 5 away games played.
Steven Pressley has already stated that he is going to be using the squad for the remaining two games to give everyone an opportunity to impress ahead of the off-season.
Head to Head
Kilmarnock were beaten here by Dundee in the Scottish Cup, but the two League games at Rugby Park have both ended in draws.
That means Killie have won 1 of the last 5 when hosting this opponent.
Prediction
Both of these teams look set for another season in the Scottish Premiership and have earned back to back wins to build up some confidence ahead of the last week of the season.
The edge here has to be with Kilmarnock who are still motivated to earn one more win that guarantees another Premiership season.
The layers understand that, but you also have to take note of the fact that Dundee are set to rotate the starting eleven with manager Steven Pressley indicating he wants to give the whole squad some minutes on the pitch.
Neil McCann is anticipating the same, but the Kilmarnock manager is also going to be reminding his players that they have to focus.
Home advantage can be so important in the Relegation Group of the Scottish top flight and Kilmarnock may finally get the better of Dundee at Rugby Park in their fourth attempt of this campaign.
The Pick :
Kilmarnock 1-0 Dundee
