Cobh Ramblers sunk to a third loss in four games last time out in the Irish 1st Division as they were handed a disappointing and comprehensive 5-1 thrashing away from home at the hands of Bray Wanderers, leaving Friday night’s hosts sitting in 6th place.

Athlone Town were involved in a third stalemate on the trot in the Irish 1st Division as the visitors were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Treaty United but nevertheless, that point also served to not only extend their unbeaten run in the domestic second tier to five matches, it also maintained their 4th place position in the table.
The visitors had previously registered wins against the likes of Bray Wanderers and Finn Harps and with a three-point cushion between themselves and their upcoming 6th placed hosts, Ian Ryan’s side will be confident they can keep Cobh Ramblers at arms length in the race for a place in the play-offs.
