This was a shocking season for SV Darmstadt 98, after which I think they will need some time to recover.
7 months at the top, marching towards the Bundesliga, and then an incredible collapse. Football can be cruel sometimes, but who is to blame for their misfortunes?
SV Darmstadt 98 was the most consistent, stable, and strong side from last September until March of this year. Then who knows what happened to them to go winless in 8 straight games!
They even drew 1-1 against the weakest and already-relegated team, Preussen Munster, last week.
SC Paderborn
SC Paderborn is 4th, level on 59 points with 2nd SV Elversberg and 3rd Hannover 96, but has the weakest goal difference of all three.
For SC Paderborn to end up in 2nd or 3rd, both their rivals need to slip. Highly unlikely both to slip, but drama is guaranteed on the last Matchday this 2.Bundesliga season.
SC Paderborn also have no one to blame but themselves if they miss out on promotion. They failed to win any of their last four games, drawing twice and losing twice.
The Betting Verdict
These two teams are probably the biggest disappointments this season. Both have 59 points, one of the best sides, quality attacks, yet they have played inexplicably badly lately.
SV Darmstadt 98 is winless in 8 and out of the promotion race, while SC Paderborn is winless in 4 and must win this game and hope someone slips up.
Very difficult game for both sides, and I am not so sure SC Paderborn will have it easy here.
In any case, the game should be pretty open and with lots of goals, so that’s my main combo betting recommendation – both to score and over 2.5 goals in the game.
