Despite recording a welcome and much-needed 2-0 win away from home at Aberdeen on Tuesday night this result proved to be too little too late for St Mirren who occupy second from bottom spot in the Premiership Relegation Round table, and will therefore have to take their chance in the relegation play-off.

Dundee United’s winless run in the Premiership extended to three games following a dour 0-0 draw at home with Livingston but although the visitors had also previously stumbled to back-to-back losses to Kilmarnock and Aberdeen, Jim Goodwin’s side had already secured their top flight status for another season.
The Tangerines sit top of the Relegation Round table and recent wins over the likes of Celtic, Livingston and neighbours Dundee respectively suggest the visitors are likely to be too strong for a struggling St Mirren outfit on Sunday afternoon.
Even an away record standing at 3-7-8 24/37 should still be enough to see Dundee United at least avoid defeat at St Mirren Park!
