Bray Wanderers finished bottom of the League of Ireland Premier Division last season and were relegated but they got a reprieve as Cork City were relegated in the close season due to financial irregularities and Bray were allowed back into the Premier Division only a week before the new season began. Boss Eddie Gormley then had the job of getting his side ready and trying to add better players to his squad in a short time.
Its not been a good start for the Wicklow side. They have lost 4 out of 4 and sit rock bottom of the table again as they were last season. In their first game of the season they were a little unlucky to lose 1-0 at home to Dundalk after missing a penalty at 0-0 but were soundly beaten by promoted side Sporting Fingal in their second home game. They did cause a shock when they Bohs 2-1 away from home last season but drew and lost the other 2 fixtures between the sides.
Bohs dropped their first points of the season when held to a 0-0 draw on Friday night at home to Sligo Rovers . But after winning their 3 previous games they are joint top with St Patricks Athletic with their Dublin rivals having a slightly better goal difference. They havent played particularly well in the early weeks but are still already in a very strong position and it must be worrying for the rest of the teams that a Bohs side not performing near its best is already in a strong position.
But in fairness Sligo have a good side this season and are also unbeaten so it wasnt a terrible result by any means. Bohs who have won the league for the past 2 seasons have the biggest and best squad in the league and their attack especially is very impressive. With Bray having a dodgy enough defence and already with 4 defeats Bohs could certainly put away a few goals in this game.
VERDICT
Bohs were held to a draw on Friday but expect them to get back to winning ways and win comfortably here.
Do BOHS TO WIN (4/9) but also consider doing them to win at half time/full time as well which is at 5/4 in Paddy Powers.
