This is the last set of fixtures before a 2 week break in the League Of Ireland. Galway face Bohemians at home and will be hoping for a repeat of their shock win over the Dublin side earlier in the season. That 3-2 win has definitely been the highlight of the season for Sean Connor's side as they sit in 8th position and only Bray and Drogheda below them in table.
They are currently 6 points ahead of Drogheda who sit in the releagtion play off table and need to find more of their early season form to ensure that they wont fall into that spot. Since that shock win over Bohs early in the season Galway have managed only 2 wins from 9 league games and have failed to get a win in their last 5 league encounters. Those 2 wins also came against the only 2 sides below them in the table as mentioned above, Bray and Drogheda.
Bohs for their part are only 3 points behind leaders Dundalk with a game in hand and thats despite being in fifth position, a stat which shows how close the league is this season with 6 teams within 5 points of the lead. Bohs who were league champions the last 2 seasons have been more inconsistent this season but have still shown on occasions that they are the best side in the country despite failing to produce their best form on a regular basis.
Boss Pat Fenlon who almost got the Dundee United job back in January will be looking for revenge for the surprise defeat back in april and for his side to go into the break on a high. They have the best away record in the league with 5 away wins and 13 goals on the road in total. Striker Jason Byrne has also been finding his form of late and has 7 league goals to his name and in second place in the scorers charts. This is an important game as we come into the break and close to the mid point of the season and I expect Bohs to be well up for this.
