A.C Milan goes into this game as favourites but they have also not won their last six home games in Europe, going as far back as two years.

AC Milan's new coach Massimiliano Allegri is hoping his side will forget about the poor showing against Cesena with a home win against French side Auxerre in today's match.

Milan must quickly forget the 2-0 defeat in their last match against Cesena in northern Italy and must not make the same mistake against the team from France.

Allegri has insisted that this is not a group of death and it will be between them and Real Madrid to top the group.

As for the visitors Auxerre, they go into the game struggling for form in the French league as they are currently 17th in their standings with four points from five games.

The French side have never made it past the quarter finals stage and are competing in the group stage for only the third time, and the first time since 2002 thanks to a 2-1 win over Zenit St Petersburg in the play-offs.

As for their team news, they will be without suspended Roy Contout, and fellow striker Alexandre Licata is out with an ankle injury. Interestingly, Coach Jean Fernandez spent time at Milan's training camp in his younger days and it will not be a good welcome for him that is for sure.
