Analysis:
It waits to be seen how Siena's last win can change their season after they beat Catania 3-2 to prepare them ahead of this clash with Udinese. What has to be applauded is that the win was more memorable when you consider they were twice behind and fought back to snatch victory.
Alberto Malesani changed the formation from a 4-3-2-1 with a diamond to a more orthodox attacking 4-3-3 style. His methods paid off afetr they got the win but it remains to be seen if they can pull off another surprise here?
Malesani reinstated that they need to improve their defence if they are to survive. Udinese will want to test that today even though they are without Serie A top scorer in Antonio Di Natale who will be out due to controversial circumstances.
The 32-year-old was booked after criticising and then threatening the referee following the Zebrette’s 2-1 defeat away to Bologna on Sunday. The league disciplinary commision later banned Di Natale for two games which angered Udinese President Giampaolo Pozzo.
Di Natale could lose his place in the World Cup as Italy Coach Marcello Lippi is watching the situation unfold. Udinese needs to win this match as they have won just once in their last five games and needs more consistency.
