Analysis:Manchester City will want to get hopes of qualifying for the Champions League when they hist lowly Bolton Wanderers tonight. City were beaten by Hull City 2-1 last weekend but can get back into fourth spot since they are three points behind Liverpool with two games in hand.
City's loss to Hull was only their fourth all season. At home, Roberto Mancini's men they have yet to lose as they won all their last seven games.
When these sies last met it ended in a 3-3 draw as they overcame a red card for Criag Bellamy and came from behind to get the draw. Bolton boss Owen Coyle is optimistic his side can come away with something here.
Bolton had to settle for a goalless draw at home to Fulham on Saturday, which left them just a point above the relegation zone. Bolton have lost just one in their last four, which was a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool since Coyle's appointment.
As for the team news, Bellamy is set to miss out for City due to his long-standing knee problem. Mancini is expected to leave him out until Saturday's FA Cup fifth-round tie against Stoke as he has to go to London to see a specialist. England defender Joleon Lescott has returned to training but at best will start from the bench.
Vincent Kompany (groin) and Micah Richards (calf) remain doubtful so youngster Dedryk Boyata is likely to start at centre-half alongside Kolo Toure.
January signing Patrick Vieira made his long-awaited debut from the bench at Hull after shaking off a calf injury and is hoping to start once again. Adam Johnson, also came on for his debut at Hull and the young winger could replace Bellamy in this match.
Roque Santa Cruz has recovered from a calf strain but Emmanuel Adebayor and Carlos Tevez should continue their partnership upfront.
The visitors will be missing the services of defender Gary Cahill. He was taken ill before the Fulham draw and it is now thought he could miss the rest of the season.
Andy O'Brien replaced Cahill against Fulham and is expected to partner Zat Knight again at the back if he manages to shake off a thigh problem.
Fabrice Muamba (ankle) is doubtful while Gavin McCann and Ivan Klasnic remains out of the side. Finally on-loan Slovakian winger Vladimir Weiss will not be considered as he is not permitted to face his parent club.
