This game sees a desperate Saints travel to Perth.
St Kilda are on somewhat of a downward spiral and need a win here to halt the rubbish. On paper they are clearly a better side, but in Perth you can expect the Eagles to pose a few problems for them.
West Coast Eagles (13th, 3-5) Form : WLLWW
The Eagles are coming off an upset win in Melbourne last weekend and will be keen to get another in front of their home fans. Nic Naitanui has been exciting all year and his presence will make the
Saints a little scared on Sunday. He is a monster and has ability that to be seen to be believed. Alongside Dean Cox they Eagles clearly have the dominant ruck division in this contest.
Up forward Mark LeCras will need to continue his solid form, but assistance from Josh Kennedy and Quinten Lynch will not go amiss for the Perth based side. This will be a key area of the game as the Saints defence will find ways to make scoring tough for the Eagles.
The likes of Matt Priddis and Matt Rosa are going to need competitive efforts in the centre as the Saints can easily dominate through the middle without even raising a finger.
Saint Kilda Saints (7th, 5-3) Form : WLWLL
The Saints were beaten by the Bombers on Sunday and they were not real good at all. They now travel to Perth and need to find a way to win.
The structure the Saints had with Nick Riewoldt is long gone and they are officially struggling. They need other ways to score and whether or not they can post a high enough score will be an issue.
They have undoubted quality through the centre led by Lenny Hayes, Nick dal Santo and Leigh Montagna. This will be what keeps them in the game because they have a clear class edge over the Eagle midfielders.
In defence the Saints have a tight structure that squeezes the life out of opponents. They will need to be doing this again on Sunday.
