SC Heerenveen managed to grab a point in Alkmaar last week against AZ and were even given the chance to go home with the full amount of points. In the second half the hosts were reduced to ten men in a phase where SC Heerenveen had the best of the play but the lack of goals is starting to get worrying after only one goal in their last three games in the Eredivisie.
Team manager Van Basten expressed his concerns in an interview last week where he said that the club broke some promises and he is not feeling very much support from the club’s direction in building a team.
Last Thursday SC Heerenveen lost 1-2 at home to Molde FK (Nor) in the Europe League and after the 2-0 defeat in Norway their European adventure is over.
For the game against Ajax the team will be without Kum (def) while Zomer (def) is expected to remain sidelined with a groin injury.
Ajax
Ajax beat NAC Breda comfortably 5-0 on Saturday thanks to a second minute goal from De Jong (att).
NAC Breda was overrun in the first half of the game and shortly after the opening goal new signing Moisander (def) headed home the 2-0 from a corner kick. With his third goal of the season Sana (att) gave the hosts a 3-0 lead at halftime and in the second half Serero (att) and De Jong (att) ensured Ajax of a 5-0 win with the team scoring eleven goals in their last two games.
For the game on Sunday Ajax will be without Boilesen (def), Enoh (mid) and Sigthorsson (att) while Van der Wiel (def) has signed for PSG (Fra) on Friday and won’t be returning.
The Betting Verdict :
Ajax is the clear favorite against SC Heerenveen and looking at the goal difference we can see why. With thirteen goals from three games Ajax is leading the scoring table while SC Heerenveen can be found at the bottom with only goal from three games.
The attacking quality of the visitors should be too much and with SC Heerenveen most likely missing Zomer (def) and Kum (def) it’s hard too see past an away win especially considering the fact Ajax won their last seven away games.
