Town are really struggling this season. Jewell's side currently sit second from bottom in 23rd place and only pointless Peterborough are below this side.
That may sound a bit harsh given a few sides are on 5 points with them and a win can really send them up the table. Even so the table doesn't lie and the players will know that they are at the bottom of the league and that can have a negative impact.
Town are currently on a 3 game winless run after starting the season well with 4 points from their first 2 games. Of these 3 games 2 have been lost and 1 drawn but the good news is that both negative results were away and the draw was at home. On Wednesday Ipswich return to Portman Road which suites them much more than on their travels.
The home form is ok, 2 unbeaten with back to back draws against Blackburn (1-1) and Huddersfield (2-2). What is worrying is that the side is winless in 5 at home stretching back to last season.
It's also 5 games since they kept a home clean sheet and in all but of these games both sides have scored.
Wolves
Solbakken's Wolves sit in 10th place following their win at the weekend with 7 points from 5 games. On Wednesday they visit the inconsistent Ipswich looking to build on their decent start to the season.
Its been a real mixed back so far for Wolves. 2 wins, 2 losses and a draw from 5 games so a bit like their opponents pretty much anything can and will happen in their games.
At the weekend Wolves beat one of the title favourites Leicester 2-1 at Molineux and that is a real confidence booster for this side. They are back on the road which isn't ideal but they will certainly want to build form this excellent result.
I say playing away isn't ideal. That's because in both away games this season Wolves have lost. Leeds (1-0) and Cardiff (3-1) are two very tough places to visit but for a recently relegated Premiership side you expect better from Wolves.
Betting Verdict
Ipswich are the favourites here which makes some sense given that Wolves have lost both away games. Ipswich as mentioned above are unbeaten at home but have failed to win a game at Portman Road which naturally makes the Wolves not to lose bet interesting.
Wolves have had to visit 2 very tough grounds at Leeds and Cardiff and not many sides will win at these venues. Ipswich are struggling to keep sides out and with Wolves putting 2 past a good Leicester side at the weekend I think they will get at least 1 here on Wednesday.
The hosts have a history of goals in their home games and I think both to score is the best angle for this game. Overs appeals but given the draws at Ipswich i want to keep 1-1 on side and rather than taking the draw I will stick to both to score.
