Wigan comes into this match unbeaten in three matches and have climbed to 13th spot in the standings. In that run they managed to beat fellow strugglers Birmingham and drawn with Chelsea and Tottenham. Wigan are not safe yet as after this clash with Reading they still have to meet an in-form Aston Villa side as well as welcome the visit of Manchester United for their final home match.

However, winger Jimmy Kebe is rated doubtful after picking up a knock against Arsenal while Brynjar Gunnarsson is also out after failure to recover from a groin operation. Defender Nicky Shorey and winger Stephen Hunt are likely to be recalled as they did not feature at all last week.
