2009-05-03 - Liverpool F.C vs Newcastle United
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Analysis:Liverpool enters this match being six points behind Manchester United after the Red Devils beat Middlesbrough 2-0 at The Riverside yesterday. They will come up against Newcastle who are fighting against relegation and the visitors will need a win to draw level with Hull who play on Monday Night Football.
The Reds will be boosted by the return of Steven Gerrard and knows they need to win this match if they are to put the pressure on United. Gerrard who has been missing in their last four matches will go back to the side after recovering from a groin injury against relegation threatened Newcastle.
Rafa Benitez could decide to make changes to the side as Albert Riera comes back to the side after he was an unused substitute in their last match against Hull City. Fabio Aurelio is also expected to start the match at left back after he did not feature against Hull.
Newcastle are three points away from safety after the dull goalless draw against Portsmouth at home. Jose Enrique is out after pulling a hamstring against Pompey so Damien Duff could be used as an emergency full-back. Fabricio Coloccini and Sebastien Bassong will be the two central defenders as Steven Taylor is still missing with an ankle problem. Joey Barton could start after he was an unused substitute against Portsmouth.
Meanwhile Kevin Nolan and Ryan Taylor could get recalls after being omitted from the side to face Portsmouth. Shearer could once again start with a three pronged attack of Michael Owen, Obafemi Martins and Mark Viduka in a bid to get the goals.
Take Newcastle and accept the 1 3/4 ball not to lose more than 1 goal here.
