Sunday 14th February Kick Off 1.30pm
Rangers 1st - Home Record W9 D3L0
Hibernian 3rd - Away Record W4 D4 L2
Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday night at Motherwell and are now 8 points ahead of Celtic and 12 ahead of Hibernian but the Edinburgh side have a game in hand. The last time the sides met at Ibrox it ended in a 1-1 draw and Hibs will travel to Ibrox full of confidence as they went to Celtic Park a few week back and won 2-1. Rangers have drawn there last 2 games but won convincingly in their 3 games before that.
Rangers have been excellent at home, unbeaten and winning 9 from 12, but that record almost went a few weeks back as Hearts led until the final minutes but the Gers managed a very late equaliser. The return of Kenny Miller and Kris Boyd has been a huge plus to Walter Smith's side. They had been missing for most of January and Boyd himself scored on wednesday night to bring his tally to 20 SPL goals this season while Miller has netted 13 times in the league. With them two in the side, you feel Rangers will always score a couple of goals no matter who they play, although the visit of Hibs will provide a tough test.
Hibs have had a terrific season and are only 4 points behind second place Celtic with a game in hand. The goals of Stokes and Riordan have been a big factor in that and between them they have netted 23 times. They have picked up an impressive 4 points on two visits to Glasgow so far this season.
On Wednesday Hibernian drew 2-2 at home to Aberdeen, two points dropped perhaps but they were 2-0 down at half time and boss John Hughes hailed his sides fighting spirit and their comeback was complete with an injury time equaliser. They also scored very late to beat St Mirren a few weeks back, showing a good never say die attitude.
Hibs have been good on the road, losing only twice this season and as mentioned above gaining 4 points from visits to the Old Firm already. They will also have been boosted by the return of Sol Bamba midweek from the African Nations Cup.
