Analysis:A.C Milan are a completely different side that started out in the first opening few weeks and are now free scoring in their matches. Milan have been unbeaten since their visit to Udinese in week 5, they have won five of their last six in Serie A – although the 1-1 in midweek against Marseille was unexpected.
Ronaldinho is finally blending in well with the team, Alexandre Pato is in fine form and they’ve even coped well without the injured Alessandro Nesta. As it is now Milan are third two points behind Juventus and seven behind Inter, Leonardo knows they still have an outside chance of winning the Scudetto. Now they need to balance between the domestic title and also the Champions League.
The problem with Catania is that they are in 19th place, three points from safety and with just one win to their name all season.
They made some significant summer purchases, but so far they have failed to deliver.
The 1-1 draw in the Sicilian derby at least provided some respite. They have also raised their game against some big clubs holding both Rome sides to draws and pushing Inter close, so there’s cause for optimistic against Milan.
These two met late on last season at the Stadio Angelo Massimino, when Pippo Inzaghi and Kaka goals gave Milan a 2-0 win
