FCM Targu Mures (16th W-1 D-3 L-3)

FCM progressed to the next round of the Romanian cup (so did Gaz Metan), despite stating that they are not interested in this competition, but neither were their opponents Viitorul Constanta, so the match had to be decided eventually and it finished 1-0 for Targu Mures.

Despite transferring some experienced players in the summer, FCM is struggling at the moment, they are only 16th and among the 4 teams that only won one game this season.

The betting verdict

There are 5-6 teams in Liga 1 that are should not be in here, they cannot compete at a decent level, but that is mainly because we have a poor second league, which cannot produce quality teams. If they continue to play like they did so far, Targu Mures could very well relegate at the end of the season, but looking at their squad I have to think that they will find their rhythm at a point and start winning some games.

Gaz Metan showed great strength at home against Steaua Bucuresti, so we are not likely to see an upset here given their opponents poor form, but FCM does have the quality to score in this match at least once. The odds for more than 2 goals are ridiculously high, a 2-1 home victory actually seems like the most likely result and let’s not forget that every match played by Gaz Metan at home finished with at least 3 goals scored, even though only one team did all the job.
