Badlam Series, this, and the Oklahoma Sooners are visiting their rivals the Oklahoma State Cowboys for bragging rights. Oklahoma have a 9-2 mark coming into this, while Oklahoma State are 10-1 and ranked 3rd in the nation.
Oklahoma are coming off a 26-6 win over Iowa State, who surprisingly beat Oklahoma State two weeks ago. I think Oklahoma were only able to do that because of the letdown factor, with Iowa still hung over from that huge win. Iowa won 37-31 in double OT, and that was bound to have an effect.
The motivation for Oklahoma State is high here as they are still able to become Big 12 champions with a win here. That loss means they are unlikely to displace Alabama to play for the title, but a conference trophy is incentive enough. In front of home fans, you can expect a huge performance as well as they've been off resting since being upset by Iowa State.
Oklahoma QB Landry Jones is quality, completing 64% of his passes for 4,058 yards and 28 TDs, but Oklahoma State QB Brandon Weedon is operating at a staggering level. Weeden has completed 73% of his passes for 4,111 yards, tossing 34 TDs. Clearly, he is the more efficient passer here. Both men have been picked 12 times.
Jones will not have some weapons to help beat the Cowboys, as top WR Ryan Broyles and RB Dom Whaley are both out for the season. Between them they have 1,784 yards and 19 TDs. They're going to be sorely missed here as Oklahoma really need to be completely fit to be in with a chance to win away.
BETTING VERDICT
Last season Oklahoma won 47-41, and with revenge in mind I expect Oklahoma State to get it done, quite possibly by more than just a TD. Take the Cowboys to win and cover.
