PREVIEW
While Tottenham and Manchester United pulled further away from Arsenal, Chelsea dropped points at Swansea and Liverpool caught up with a win too, meaning Arsenal must win tonight to keep pace in what is likely to be an exciting 3 team race for 4th place.
January has had some fantastic moments for Arsenal, such as the Henry goal on his return to knock Leeds out of the FA Cup, and then again in the next round of the FA Cup, where the Gunners overturned a 0-2 HT deficit to beat Aston Villa with 3 goals inside 7 minutes.
Unfortunately, those are the only 2 games Arsenal won, and neither was impressive. Losses were suffered against Fulham, Swansea and Manchester United and while tonight looks easy on paper, the truth is Bolton have lost just 1 of their last 7 matches.
While I like Arsenal to just about scrape past Bolton tonight, I know it is equally possible they turn on the style and win by 3, or even suffer an off day and shoot themselves in the foot. The team will have gained a lot of belief from their 2nd half comeback against Villa and that is what I feel may get them past the Wanderers. I'm not about to bet on the outcome though.
I don't trust either defence, especially Arsenals. Villa scored way too easily and Bolton are in revenge mode, having lost twice at the Emirates this season. They just beat Liverpool 3-1 at this very ground so they bring good form. Goals look likely, but I don't like the way the markets are priced.
I think this game will have a frantic finish, and with both teams letting in far too many goals, Arsenal on their travels, and Bolton in general...the timing of the final goal looks a decent bet.
BETTING VERDICT
Bet365 have the last goal market at 1.83 with the cutoff being 75:59 mins, which gives us a huge 14 mins + to work with.
I reckon there should be a goal in the last 5 mins, so with that much time, I'll go with the following bet
The Pick :
Arsenal
