2012-09-29 - Bolton Wanderers vs Crystal Palace
A Sports Betting Pick by Lamps
Football : England : Championship
Saturday 29th September - Kickoff 3:00pm
Bolton
Coyle's Bolton are trying to kick start their season. The Championship favourites occupy 14th in the table and trail the leaders Brighton by 6. Against fellow strugglers Palace at the Reebok Stadium they will fancy their chances of a home win to close the gap.
Wanderers only have 3 wins this season but 2 have come in the last 3. Slowly the side is winning games in this division and sooner or later they will make a push for the top 2.
In 3 home games at home this season Bolton have won 2. Derby (2-0) and Watford (2-1) were beaten whilst Forest drew 2-2 here in a midweek game. Bolton have scored 2 goals in each of their home games which gives them a great chance to win games.
Defensively the side continues to concede goals keeping just 1 clean sheet at home all season. Including away games it's no clean sheet in 4 for this side but they have scored in the last 6 games overall. With a lot of fire power going forward if they can just keep things tighter defensively they will win more games.
Crystal Palace
Palace are a place below Bolton in the table also with 10 points and Freedman will be very happy to see his side shooting up the table. The side is unbeaten in 4 now and look a different side to the one that started the year so badly.
Having lost the first 3 games of the season to Watford (2-3), Bristol (3-1) and Boro (2-1) Palace turned things around and enter this one very high on confidence.
The away form of Palace isn't great. The recent 1-0 win at Charlton was their first away win in 13 of which 5 were defeats. 5 doesn't sound too bad but when we consider that these have all come in the last 7 it doesn't look good at all.
Betting Verdict
Bolton are the favourites here and I can't argue with this tag. The best price on the home win is 1.67 which is perhaps a little short given the visitors unbeaten run of late.
I will side with goals here as I fully expect both sides to find the target. Bolton as documented above have scored in the last 6 games with 2 of their 3 games going overs at home.
Palace have had 6 of their last 7 go overs away from home and the 1-0 win at Charlton was the first time in 9 that only 1 side has scored. Given these stats I fully expect 3 goals in this game with 2-1 the most likely scoreline.
Good Luck
The Pick :
Bolton 2-1 Palace
