The Chicago Blackhawks are in the Rogers Arena in BC to try and avenge their last loss against Vancouver, 10 days ago, when they went down 6-2. Chicago have won 3 games in a row now, including that 6-3 win over Edmonton a few days ago. it gives the Blackhawks a 11-4-1-2 mark for the season. Away from home, they are 4-3-1-0.
Chicago have banged in 16 goals in their last 3 games, conceding just 7. They beat Columbus and Edmonton 6-3, either side of a 4-1 win over Calgary. Corey Crawford will be the man between the pipes for Chicago, looking to stop Vancouver scoring a bunch again.
Vancouver have a slightly worse record than Vancouver, going 9-8-0-1 with a 4-2-0-1 mark at home. Their last match was on Sunday, where they beat the NY Islanders 4-1. However, that win came just after a 4-3 loss to the Anaheim Ducks, who are awful!
Corey Schneider will be tasked with keeping Chicago from getting revenge and I have to say I don't think he's in for a good evening. Schneider has an awful 3.96GAA in just 4 career starts against the Blackhawks!
This 6 game road-trip, which begins in Vancouver tonight, is something Chicago do every year, and is called the "Circus Trip". Last year, they came to Vancouver and won, and they did that the year before too. Looks like a trend to me, and they sure have the firepower to score and compete with the Canucks, definitely now when they're riding a hot streak.
BETTING VERDICT
Chicago are in revenge mode, having scored a bunch in all their recent wins. This won't be easy, but I'm going to go with Chicago purely because the price on them is too high. Very much a value bet, this.
