A Sports Betting Pick by Yeovil Fan
2006/07
BLACKPOOL
Blackpool's season has just continued to get better and better as it has gone on.
After 14 games they were in the relegation zone, they got into the play-offs places in week 28 and staying there untill the rest of the season.
It looked as though they would finish 4th however winning at Swansea(3-6) on the last day the leapt ahead of Forest to finish 3rd.
They have been consistant in terms of home and away their records being at home won 12, drawn 6 and lost 5 and away won 12, drawn 5 and lost 6.
YEOVIL TOWN
Yeovil's season started in mid-table before breaking into the play-offs in week 10.
After this their season was a bit more consistant never dropping below 8th and going as high as second. They had secured 5th place going into the last day of the season no matter what happened but Yeovil kept winning anyway (2-0) away at Gillingham.
They were more tradional in favouring playing at home: won 14, drawn 3 and lost 6. Away: won 9, drawn 7 and lost 7.
End of season form:
Blackpool: Played 6, won 6. (scoring 20, conceeding 8)
Yeovil T : Played 6, won 4 and lost 2. (Scoring 9, conceeding 6)
Team News:
For Yeovil Chris Cohen is rated as 50/50 to be fit for the final on Sunday. If he does not make it then Jean-Paul Kalala should play in his place.
This is significant because if Kalala plays he is a more holding midfielder, whereas Cohen will open the midfield up to be a lot more attacking.
Club captain Terry Skiverton is also trying to be fit again for the final after picking up a groin problem 3/4 weeks ago. If he fails to be fit then Scott Guyett will take his place as he did for both of the Forest games and covered very well.
Blackpool have no Injuries that I can find any information about.
Probable line ups:
Blackpool : Rachubka, Barker, Jackson, Evatt, Williams, Forbes, Southern, Jorgensen, Hoolahan, Parker, Morrell.
Yeovil : Mildenhall, Lindegaard, Guyett(Poss Skiverton), Forbes, Jones, Gray, Barry, Cohen (poss Kalala), Davies, Morris, Stewart.
THE VERDICT
Blackpool have played the attacking approach - "we will keep scoring until we have scored more than you" - which has worked well for them this season.
Yeovil have been on the other hand more low key with their scoring and with a bit more emphasis on defending. Having said that Yeovil having been scoring more recently since Kalala has been dropped for Anthony Barry in midfield.
If Cohen starts then I really fancy both teams to score. With Morrell, Parker, Stewart, morris, Davies, Gray and Hoolahan on the pitch there is really no excuse for no goals.
As for the promotion aspect I think Blackpool will just edge it. Blackpool to get promoted at 1.67 are not great odds but that is probably the sensible bet.
Good luck whatever you go for, I am expecting a good open match. The boys have done us proud all season and whatever the result it's been fantastic.
C'mon you Glovers
