The Pats go for the perfect season in this years super bowl and what will also be there 4th win in seven seasons which in itself in this day and age of free agents etc is just fantastic. Also factor in the "Spying" problems that they had at the start of the season which many thought would cause their season to falter, an unbeaten record becomes even more of an achievement.
Now by all accounts Tom Brady has a little problem with his ankle but this wont stop the three times winner playing in this game. In the two games in the playoffs so far the Pats have beaten both the Jags and the Chargers at home but in both games the Pats for me were not at their best. The Jags where beaten by eleven points 31-20 and in the AFC Championship game the Chargers lost to them by 9 points 21-12.
So for me the Pats while being very very hot favourites are doing enough to get through without destroying teams so far in the playoffs. In the last few games of the normal season they did beat the team they will play in Super Bowl at home by only three points 38-35.
New York Giants

The Giants finished second behind the team they beat in the second round of the playoffs, the Dallas Cowboys with a 10-6 record which in the end put them three game behind the Cowboys during the regular season, but this didn’t mean a thing when the Giants when to Cowboys Stadium and won.
Previous to this game they went to Tampa and won 24-14 so this is a team that don’t mind going on the road and more importantly don’t mind winning on the road with three wins already in the playoffs and also a record of 7-1 away from Giants Stadium during the normal season.
Not many people gave them a hope when they played the Packers in the NFC Championship game but for me they were the better team by far and deserved the win and a shot at the 100% Pats.
I'm not sure how many Giant fans thought they would make it this far but with the away record they have it was also going to be possible that they could win on the road during the playoffs. Now they have one more away game to go and that is the big one, which could make it another Super Bowl for a Manning.
Verdict
I like many others cannot wait to watch this game, the beers are in, the food is purchased and the day of work is booked in for the Monday.
Now the big question is first of all who is going to win the game and I think despite their lack lustre performances during the playoffs the Pats will be just about strong enough to see off the Giants in this game, but with a price of 1.20 it will take a brave soul to back them to win it on the money line.
So that brings me on to the spread which I thought would be at the most +10 for the Giants and even at a push +7.5, after all only three points separated the two teams just a few weeks ago. Also the Giants have already beaten the Cowboys and the Packers on the way to the Super Bowl so they have to be taken seriously.
So I was very happy to see that the spread has the Giants at +12.5, which is very tempting, and if you don’t have a Betfair account then this is what I would go for.
However Betfair offer different spreads and you can get the New York Giants at a massive +18.5 @ 1.38 and this for me is a must bet as while I can see the Pats winning the game, I just can not see for the life of me the game being a 19 point game.
