Keflavik - Fram 1-0
FH - Grindavik 7-2
Thor - Valur 0-3
Vikingur - Breidablik 2-2
Stjarnan - Fylkir 4-1

Match Reports

Keflavik - Fram 1-0
I had predicted some goals in this game but Fram just keep on blowing away all the chances they get. And chances they had in this game but like usual they didn't manage to use them. On top of that their key player, Arnar Gunnlaugsson, got injured early in the game. I don't know yet if he will miss some games.

Keflavik were equally as bad as they have been in recent games and their goal came after a silly mistake from Fram. After the goal the game simply died and had nothing to offer but plain boredom. Both sides seem to be facing a lot of problems, especially Fram.

FH - Grindavik 7-2
Yes well, what do I need to say about this game? The scoreline speaks for itself. Grindavik were absolutely terrible and in fact the club has apologised to the supporters and will offer a refund for those who attended the game. Also the players are inviting the supporters to a barbeque to make some amends.

FH played good and their old stylish passing was again seen. They had a lot of space in the midfiled which they used to the fullest. Their defense had an easy day killing of all those long balls from Grindavik. Still, it's a bit worrying for FH conceding two goals against such a terrible Grindavik's side.

Grindavik is yet again facing a relegation battle but FH managed to stay with in reach of the the top.

Thor - Valur 0-3
Valur continues keeping a clean sheet and after a good home run Thor finally stumble down. This shouldn't be too worrying for Thor since Valur is very strong and their defense is excellent even though it's slow.

Valur is in need of a striker but their midfield and defense have gotten them to where they are now, the 1st place. Their midfield player, Haukur Pall Sigurdsson, is becoming one of the strongest players in the league the way he has been performing.

Valur have now only conceded in 3 of the 9 games they have played in the league.

Vikingur - Breidablik 2-2
This game was the one for Vikingur to finally get some more goals scored as Breidablik has the weakest defense in the league. This surely came true and actually they can blame themselves for not having scored more since they got many more chances.

The game started with Breidablik's Australian striker, Dylan Jacob Macallister, finally getting a goal in the league but before that he had only scored once in the Cup. But in the next 20 minutes or so Vikingur netted two goals with the second one being very pretty, scored by a 17 year old boy, Viktor Jonsson. He could've easily scored two more as he got two more open chances.

Vikingur played well in this game but the reason for that could easily be Breidablik's bad defense. Breidablik have not kept a clean sheet in any of the 9 games in the league.

Stjarnan - Fylkir 4-1
Strange game. Yet again Fylkir's instability comes to light. After a good run they have only gotten 1 point in the last two rounds. They were bad in this game but still managed to get the lead but that was short lived. Stjarnan quickly leveled and had no problem in finishing Fylkir off.

It must be noted that once again Stjarnan's manager, Bjarni Johannsson, showed his tactical ability when he changed his team's setup before the game. Since Fylkir is very fast up front, both their midfielders and strikers, he moved one of his regular midfielders down into the heart of Stjarnan's defense. This worked perfectly since Fylkir didn't manage to threat like they have in their games before.
