English Premier News :: Liverpool lead standings but Man United still favoured to win title

Bookmakers have cut Liverpool to 2/1 from 4/1 for the Premier League after their 5-1 demolition of Newcastle yesterday.

It was a classy victory and could have been double that considering the amount of chances that went begging for Liverpool, who were boosted further later in the day when closest pursuers Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw by Fulham.

That result has seen the Blues odds also eased to 2/1 as they now trail Liverpool by three points.

But it's Manchester United who are now clear favourites on 11/8 (from 7/5) at Sky Bet and they are next in action on Monday night when they host Middlesbrough.

Arsenal got back to winning ways with a slender 1-0 defeat of Portsmouth and bookmakers make them 20/1 chances to win the league - even though they trail Liverpool by 10 points.
