Washington's road trip continues tonight as they open a series against the LA Dodgers. John Lannan will makes his 2nd start for the Nats, having been called up from the minors.
In his last time out, Lannan gave up 2 runs and 7 hits over 5 innings against the Phillies. Lannan is now the not so proud holder of a 2-5 record and a 5.62 ERA in 15 starts. He has also not faced the Dodgers in 2 years now but several opposing batters do boast good numbers against him.
To name a few, Reed Johnson, Garret Anderson, Casey Blake and Andre Ethier. It is also worth mentioning that left-handed batters are connecting with Lannans stuff with a batting average that is dangerously close to .400.
Washington, as a team, is hitting .259 against southpaws, while scoring 4.2 runs per game against them. So I guess they're going to be giving as good as they're getting.

Kershaw has faced Washington in April this year, and he surrendered 2 runs and 8 hits in 6 innings. Adam Dunn, Ryan Zimmerman, Nyjer Morgan, Wil Nieves, Alberto Gonzalez and Pudge Rodriguez all have very good numbers against him and bat between .333 and .500 which looks very promising!
The LA Dodgers have 4 lefties in their offense tonight - James Loney, Anderson, Ethier, and Scott Podsednik, who has just joined the West Coast team. The Dodgers are also averaging about 4 runs per game against lefty pitchers this season.
