Just 2 months after destroying Arsenal 8-2 in front of an ecstatic home crowd, Uniteds fans endured a derby from hell as they watched their team get torn to shreds by the noisy neighbours. They had a reason to be particularly noisy, for after knocking out United in last years FA Cup, they marched out of Old Trafford with a 6-1 win.

The response was instant, even though the team wasn't quite the same that took the walloping. Alex Ferguson must have given them hell, because the Red Devils went to Aldershot and put it a dominant and very effective performance, keeping a clean sheet while scoring 3 goals. Berbatov and Owen, never in the starting line-up for regular matches, both got goals for their club.

In contrast, Everton had a great Sunday, as the bounced back from surrendering the lead to Fulham by scoring twice late on. Then in midweek, they were pushed all the way, coming back to equalise against Chelsea to take their Carling Cup match into extra-time, where they ultimately lost 2-1. A lot of effort went into those matches, which means there is a fatigue factor here for Everton.

Everton have scored goals, and I do believe they will score here too in a home game against a side they have caused problems to, but that extra day that United got, along with the rested players, should make a difference.

What is telling is that Everton have struggled recently against the big clubs, going down 2-0 to both Liverpool and Manchester City, and 3-1 to Chelsea. All losses by more than 1 goal.

BETTING VERDICT

I think there are going to be some goals here but will focus on Manchester United, who are in serious bounce back mode.

I'll give United the respect they deserve and take them to win, but on the AH for a slightly better price.
