2012-04-22 - Wolverhampton vs Manchester City
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Match Preview :
Manchester City takes on bottom club Wolves and they know nothing short of a win will do for them here. United host Everton just hours before City travel to Molineux but, whatever happens at Old Trafford, Roberto Mancini will know they need the three points here.
Even though Mancini may have conceded the Premier League title but convincing wins over West Brom and Norwich - scoring 10 goals in the process - have renewed belief among supporters that there is still hope. They go into this weekend five points behind United and anotherwin here would send Sergio Aguero & co into the title showdown with their neighbours on April 30th in the best of mood ahead of their showdown with Manchester United.
Wolves are not yet mathematically relegated yet but they go into the weekend eight points from Premier League safety and the players themselves have already admitted they are playing for pride and dignity as it seems quite a task for them to come back from where they are now.
Terry Connor is still waiting for a first win as Wolves manager but did succeed in ending a run of seven consecutive defeats with a goalless draw at Sunderland last weekend and he is also not expected to end that run here today. That is because Connor's men have lost their last nine matches at Molineux and it will take something special here to avoid that sequence of home results reaching double figures today.
Team News :
Wolves Team News :
Wayne Hennessey is out in goal after damaging cruciate knee ligaments at the Stadium of Light. That means Dorus de Vries will make his Premier League debut as Hennessey's replacement in goal, with the recalled Carl Ikeme set to be on the bench.
Jamie O'Hara remains unavailable but Sebastien Bassong is back after suspension. Ronald Zubar and David Edwards are also pushing for starts. Matt Jarvis is set to return to the starting line-up in place of Anthony Forde, while Kevin Doyle could oust Sylvan Ebanks-Blake in attack.
Manchester City Team News :
City are expected to continue with the on-form Argentine duo of Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez, so Edin Dzeko will again be on the bench. Mario Balotelli misses out as he serves the third game of his ban for the red card he received at Arsenalearlier this month.
Micah Richards may return at right-back otherwise there may not be much changes from the side that beat Norwich last week.
