Huddersfield Town lost 3-0 at Middlesbrough midweek to leave them in 11th place on 28 points. The club is only 4 points off the playoff so all it is not lost and they will want to bounce back quickly with a win on Saturday afternoon.
Grayson's side haven't won in 3 games now suffering 2 defeats in the process. Fortunately, a lot of the sides above them have dropped points so 3 points could put them just a point off the top 6.
At home the side hasn't won in 2 as Blackburn (2-2) and Brighton (1-2) have had results here in recent weeks. Huddersfield did win against Wolves (2-1) and Bristol (1-0) prior to these 2 games so we know they can get results at home.
Both sides have scored in 3 of the last 4 with the visitors scoring 2 goals in both of their last 2 visits here. Grayson's side are struggling defensively to keep sides out and that could cost them against a decent Leeds side.
Leeds United
Leeds United beat high flying Leicester City 1-0 at home midweek to move up the table into 15th place. 15th doesn't sound great but it's just 6 points off the top 6 so like the hosts there is a lot to play for.
Warnock's men have now won back to back games having disposed of another good side (Palace 2-1) the weekend before. Taking 6 from 6 off 2 sides in the top 6 is excellent and I expect Leeds to really kick on here.
Away from home Leeds have struggled losing the last 2 at Burnley and Millwall both 1-0. Before that they had 3 straight score draws at Bolton, Sheffield Wednesday and Brighton. If the side can replicate their recent home form on their travels we should see them shoot up the table.
It's 12 away games since the last clean sheet for Leeds and I see them conceding at least 1 at the weekend. Going forward they have been shut out in back to back games but did score 8 in 4 before hand.
Betting Verdict
Huddersfield Town are the favourites for this one but I can't back either side to win the game. The hosts haven't won in 3 overall and in 2 at home.
The visitors haven't won in 5 games on their travels but do have back to back home wins against Palace and Leicester. Leeds United haven't scored in the last 2 away games but I fancy them to notch at least 1 at the weekend, it's a derby game so I'm expecting goals.
Leeds just don't keep clean sheets on the road and Huddersfield have had both sides scoring in 3 of their last 4 at home. Both to score is short given Leeds's frailties on the road but having scored against the 2 sides listed above they should get joy in this one.
If pressed it's Leeds who I fancy to win the game but think the 1-1 is too big a threat. As a result both to score is the best bet in this lunch time derby.
